The Honorees

The San Francisco Little Italy Honor Walk celebrates, preserves, and enriches Italian-American heritage and culture in San Francisco's Little Italy, honoring the voices, struggles, and triumphs of those who shaped the City of San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. In addition to bronze plaques installed in Little Italy in North Beach, the free app highlights a virtual path and provides an immersive experience.

The first group of individuals to be honored by a digital profile in the app, as a candidate for a potential physical bronze plaque defined by our Board of Directors, is comprised of the following notable historical figures:

MARIANA BERTOLA, RENA BOCCI, BENIAMINO BUFANO, JOE DI MAGGIO,

FEDERICO FAGGIN, LAWRENCE FERLINGHETTI, FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA,

JOHN FUGAZI, AMEDEO GIANNINI, GEORGE MOSCONE, ANTONIETTA PISANELLI, FATHER RAFFAELE PIPERNI, AMEDEO TOMASSINI, AND MORE...
